What Makes Alkalign Unique?

by | Sep 29, 2022

Unlike the aspirational and unsafe workouts we see on all over Instagram, Alkalign is a workout that is accessible to *almost* all and has prioritized safety, effectiveness and function over profit, aesthetics or that latest/greatest “fad” feel.

Alkalign is a workout that is physically accessible to so many.

From a physical standpoint, our exercises are based on functional movements that the human body was designed to do every day. We teach people how to do those movements better, in terms of alignment, strength, mobility and mind/body connection. And when something doesn’t work for someone, we not only have the knowledge to help them modify/optimize, we have the business model that allows for the personal connection and the conversation necessary to truly customize our classes to each participant.

From a geographic standpoint, Alkalign is accessible to all because it is offered in many modalities. In addition to a brick and mortar headquarters in Los Altos, we have a robust Livestream offering and an On Demand platform that has classes for all levels that can be accessed at all hours from just about anywhere in the world.

From a financial standpoint, we have a diverse assortment of ways people can access Alkalign. Whether it’s free digital programs or pay-what-you-can memberships, there is something for every level and every interest

From an equipment standpoint, Alkalign utilizes simple props that are both pretty inexpensive and space-efficient like yoga blocks and light dumbbells. In many cases, household items can be substituted which is not only convenient, but cost effective. Alkalign utilizes a stable surface which not only assists with balance, but also makes the brain feel safe so it can focus on the task at hand vs. focusing all of its attention on trying to make sure you don’t fall over. This ensures that the strengthening is more targeted and effective, and not diluted by distraction.

From an inclusion perspective, Alkalign is committed to making all feel welcome. We use inclusive language in our classes and do our best to make the workouts as accessible as possible. Life is difficult enough. Access to a well-balanced, safe, effective and FUN workout doesn’t have to be.

Not all things work for all people, but Alkalign works for many because of the type of exercises we offer, the modalities available and the pay-what-you-can membership options.

Please help us grow our Blue Crew family and share what Alkalign is all about with your friends, family, colleagues or complete strangers.

It Doesn't Have to Hurt to Work

A NEW, 2-week FREE program we are offering to any and all who want to get off the hamster wheel and try something that 1) works and 2) you will enjoy in the process. No more beating yourself up and spiraling the shame drain thinking you have to do more and be more. We embrace a philosophy that it doesn’t have to hurt to work. The extremes aren’t sustainable. Be kind to yourself. Be kind to your body. Slow, steady and sane wins the race of life. And we are here to help you along the way.

Hi! I’m Erin and my passion in life is helping others feel better by helping them get out of their own head. So much of our relationship to food and fitness is a reflection of deeply rooted beliefs that were imprinted on us at a very early age. These beliefs drive all sorts of behaviors, many of which are not good for our physical or mental health. I know this first-hand. As a former calorie-counting cardio queen I played right into all the toxic messages about what it meant to be “healthy”. That all changed when I hit rock bottom. Since leaving my corporate career in 2009 I have been fully committed to shifting the narrative and helping people experience better physical health by unpacking unhealthy beliefs. My biggest inspiration are my two young daughters, who I hope to raise in a household that openly illuminates and addresses the misinformation instead of adopting it.
