Recharge – Recharge is our signature rolling class and collection of sequences that promote mobility and pliability in your body. Mobility is the foundation for everything else. Without the ability to move in an aligned and fluid way, it’s nearly impossible to effectively build strength in your muscles or your cardiovascular system. Sadly, this is the one that most people overvalue because it doesn’t burn a ton of calories. But if it had a monetary equivalent when it comes to benefits for your body, it would look like $$$$.

Align – Aligning your body is such a priority. It’s also a lot harder to do that we realize due to external factors like shoes, desks and technology that impair our bodies ability to function as they were intended. This class teaches you proper alignment techniques and incorporates exercise and movement practices that help you build the awareness and strength. It is functional, meaning it involves multi-joint and multi-planar movements to train both your body and brain for all of life’s activities.

Build – Building on (cheesy pun intended) the Recharge and Align formats, this class focuses on increasing muscular strength. If you want to be able to lift your grandkid or your suitcase into the overhead compartment years from now, your strength training starts now. The goal is to help you get stronger by lifting heavier, and teaching you how to do it and how to appropriately progress so you don’t get injured.

Cardio – Cardiovascular health is important. It’s also not the only thing that’s important. In a world that puts a lot focus on moving fast with a lot of output, it’s important that we evaluate risk vs reward. While cardio can be really good for your heart, many forms can be very taxing on your joints. Pounding the pavement running can ruin your hips, knees and back. Hunching over a bike can also wreak havoc on your back and hip flexors. Alkalign’s Cardio format is functional and heart-rate elevating without the accelerated wear and tear or running, jumping or going so hard and fast that your form falls apart.

Hi! I’m Erin and my passion in life is helping others feel better by helping them get out of their own head. So much of our relationship to food and fitness is a reflection of deeply rooted beliefs that were imprinted on us at a very early age. These beliefs drive all sorts of behaviors, many of which are not good for our physical or mental health. I know this first-hand. As a former calorie-counting cardio queen I played right into all the toxic messages about what it meant to be “healthy”. That all changed when I hit rock bottom. Since leaving my corporate career in 2009 I have been fully committed to shifting the narrative and helping people experience better physical health by unpacking unhealthy beliefs. My biggest inspiration are my two young daughters, who I hope to raise in a household that openly illuminates and addresses the misinformation instead of adopting it.
