Hi! I’m Erin

I am Erin Paruszewski (Pear-Ahh-Zoo-Ski), Founder of Alkalign and a recovering calorie-counting, cardio-obsessed, sugar addict. I started teaching group fitness classes at Equinox back in the early 2000s as a way to earn a few extra bucks and score a free gym membership. Little did I know that side hustle would become my true passion and life’s work, but for none of the reasons you’d think.

After exiting corporate America to explore my entrepreneurial interests, I opened two boutique barre fitness studios in Menlo Park and Los Altos, CA. Within months, I gave birth to my first daughter and that changed everything. I started seeing the world through her eyes. I started hearing the messages the world was sending through her ears. I started feeling disappointed and disgusted by the messages I was consuming, and even worse by the messages I knew she’d grow up with, especially with a mom in the fitness business. A few years later, we welcomed another daughter to the mix and by this point, the stakes were even higher. Two girls. One scary world.

I started doing some deep work on myself to unearth some of my issues with the fitness industry and began to understand what did and didn’t work and WHY.

I am someone who has always been true to myself. I knew continuing to contribute to predatory messaging, unsafe exercises, and unrealistic expectations was not working for me. Rather than exit the industry altogether, I pivoted towards a path to shift the messages and outcomes for my girls, my clients, and myself.

Every day I swim upstream to change the fitness macro environment in micro ways. I founded Alkalign with one purpose: to create a safe space for my clients, in both mind and body. Welcome to our Blue Crew community. I hope you benefit from the intentional movement and strength-building of Alkalign.

I’m glad you’ve joined me!

xo,
